Enjoy Eating Outside at these SoMa Restaurant Patios

Something about eating outdoors makes a meal taste so much better. A sunny day and fresh air go well with any entree. When it comes to choosing a restaurant in SoMa, try one of these options and enjoy your feast with a view.

Town Hall

Belly up to some authentic Southern comfort food at Town Hall. Here you can sit down to a family style meal with a choice of “meat and threes,” a meat entree with 3 sides. Portions are meant to be shared between 2-3 people. Start the meal off with warm jalapeño cornbread with honey butter and wash it down with sweet tea. Then finish things off with a butterscotch and chocolate pot de créme. And enjoy it all on crisp white linens on a lovely covered patio.

B Bar and Restaurant

Overlooking the beautiful Yerba Buena Gardens from atop the Moscone Center sits a restaurant with the most simple name imaginable: B. B includes a rooftop terrace with a view of the gardens and a panoramic vista of the San Francisco skyline. It is a popular place for wedding receptions and other events but is also a thriving happy hour scene. The seasonal menu features foods from local California farms. Be sure to check their Facebook or Instagram before going to make sure they are not closed for a private event.

Waterbar

Get up close and personal with the Bay Bridge at Waterbar. This seafood eatery sits practically in the shadow of the bridge and offers exquisite views of the bay from their two patios. Stop in for brunch for a unique seafood inspired take on breakfast classics, such as the gulf shrimp hash. Or go for dinner and eat your weight in oysters. You can feel good about it, as 5 cents from every oyster sold is donated to charity.

Rosa Mexicano

Rosa Mexicano is a Mexican restaurant serving up traditional fare alongside inspired new creations. You can have the classic tableside guacamole made on the charming outdoor patio, bathed in a glow from string lights woven between gorgeously manicured trees and bright flowers. Bring some friends, sip a flavorful, fresh margarita, and let your cares melt away.

Head outside and let the fresh air accompany a delicious meal at one of these excellent restaurants. Call it animal instinct or simply a break from the norm, eating outdoors just feels right.
