A DAY AROUND SOMA SAN FRANCISCO

With the weather warming up, it’s now time to get out of the house (or apartment) and explore our beautiful city. Living in SOMA gives you ample opportunity to have a day packed with new adventures every time you leave home. This week’s blog is all about one of our favorite days in our amazing neighborhood:

1. Blue Bottle Coffee- Of course we would start our day with delicious coffee. Several visits to Blue Bottle Coffee stands out as highlights of a wonderful trip around SOMA during a beautiful adventure day. Perfect coffee every time. Even standing in line at peak hours is a treat; the white-painted high-ceilinged interior is cool and lovely and the fellow coffee-fiends interesting to watch!

2. 1am: 1am offers great workshops on art history, stenciling , and spray paint, usually with a social justice theme. This amazing exhibit is filled with folks with real street cred giving great insights into the history and culture of street art. 1am is the best place in the city to learn to handle spray cans and various tools of the trade, leaving you with one creative afternoon!

3. SOMA Streat Food Park: Hosting a rotating fleet of food trucks, you can generally choose from 6 to 7 food trucks for lunch on a given day, including at least one for dessert such as ice cream! There’s a permanent truck for beer and wine in a repurposed school bus, and both outdoor and indoor seating options, and a large barn structure with music and televisions. As far as the delicious food goes, the experience varies by design, and on rainy days some of the food trucks don’t open. This is a great place to end your adventure around SOMA!

Living in SOMA means that there is always something to do, whether it be learning a new trade or the newest coffee craze. We love our neighborhood because you never know what’s going to go on one day from the next, making SOMA one of the most exciting places to live!
