The Best Stores in SoMa for the Holiday Season

The Holiday season is all but upon us which means shopping, shopping, shopping! There are great sales to take advantage of before Christmas (and after, obviously) and stores filled with amazing deals. But which stores here in SoMa are the ones you should be hitting up? That’s the subject of our latest blog, the Best Local Stores in SoMa for the Holiday Season.

Kicking off our tour is Big Daddy’s – because who doesn’t love antiques? Located at 1550 17th Street, Big Daddy’s isn’t like your average antique dealership, focusing instead on unique products that are antique, vintage or reproductions. Their stuff is sourced from all around the world – so not just America but Europe and Asia too. They have huge showrooms that also double as photography sets. There’s so much stuff with so much variety that it’s impossible to list them but you can find almost anything – from antique leather bags to custom marriage tables, it’s all here.

You might be looking for a place to hold all your new stuff (or old stuff) in – which is why The Container Store over at 26 4th Street is a great place to hit up. From plastic storage boxes to kitchen canisters, to all things to help enhance your closet, this makes a great place to visit for holiday gifts too. And the fact that they also sell gift packaging and ribbons and bows means that even if you don’t do your holiday shopping here, you’ll still need them to wrap everything up!

And then, of course – of course! – there is Nordstrom’s over in the Westfield San Francisco Centre at 865 Market Street. Pretty much a holiday tradition, Nordstrom’s customer service is always top of the game (as well as their return policy). Whoever it is you’re shopping for this holiday season – and yes, we include you in that – Nordstrom’s most likely has it. Open Mon-Sat from 10am-9pm and Sundays from 11am-7pm, Nordstrom’s also offers beauty stylists, alterations, personal stylists, a spa, and a restaurant.

Plenty of places around SoMa to do your holiday shopping in so get out there and spend. Be sure to pick yourself something up too!
