Living in SoMa means that every day can be a celebration, but St. Patty’s Day holds a spot close to our heart. The upcoming holiday will be a day to remember, so here are our favorite spots to get yourself into the Irish spirit!

Kate O’Brien’s Irish Bar & Grilll- Quite possibly the best Irish in San Francisco, and it’s right here in our neighborhood! Soaring ceilings plastered in old, over-sized posters make this narrow Irish pub feel bigger than it is. It’s dark and cozy without being divey- and the crowd is a good blend of hipsters and business travelers. Don’t be surprised if you hear someone at a nearby table join in to sing along the lyrics to a song on the mixed bag jukebox or a few Car Bombs being enjoyed. Finally, the bartenders are amazing here, so we would go every night if we could!

The Chieftain- The Chieftain has a great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. With beautiful decor and a fully stocked bar and beer list, this pub is the place to be this St. Patty’s Day! The Chieftain fills up with people very quickly, so we suggest getting here early! If you’re hungry throughout the festivities, the food is delicious-  suggest you try the lamb burger!

Johnny Foley’s Irish House- This pub is famous for its fantastic atmosphere.  Johnny Foley’s Irish House’s very friendly staff makes it a great time to visit any time of day!  If you are hungry, we suggest you try the lamb stew, bangers and mash, or fish and chips!  Solaire always recommends Johnny Foley’s Irish House for anyone here on business or just for fun during St. Patty’s Day!

While living in SoMa gives you the opportunity to try cuisines from all over the world, St. Patty’s Day is the perfect time to enjoy some grub and spirits straight from Ireland. Where are your favorite Irish pubs in SoMa?
