What was your New Years’ resolution? If it was to get into amazing shape, living in SoMa will suit you well! Our neighborhood offers so many amazing fitness centers encompassing many different styles of exercise. Which one is your favorite?
Barry’s Bootcamp SoMa: Barry’s is the absolute best workout you can get in 1 hour. The mix of cardio and floor / weights whips you into shape in no time. This gym may be a bit more expensive than others, but the tradeoff is an amazing workout you would never have otherwise done yourself and much faster results. The instructors each have their unique personality and workout styles, so try them and see which suits you best! Great, clean facilities too with smoothies too!
OMPower: This place is amazing! This cycling and yoga studio is a nice cozy place hidden in the SOMA neighborhood. Their spinning classes are exceptional especially because their big screen in the front of the room displays some of the most amazing bike routes in the world! With their own styles and personalities, the trainers are great and the front desk is very receptive and kind. OMPower’s Sunday yoga is a great way to end a busy San Franciscan weekend!
United Barbell – CrossFit SOMA: You don’t go to a CrossFit gym if you’re interested in doing your own thing. You join a CF gym because you want to be part of a community and being around like minded people who will push you further than you would alone. United Barbell is a great example of this. Jenny (owner) is amazing at motivating a wide variety of athletes. From the first time lifter, to the serious competitor, her positive and direct coaching method is well received. Not only can you do weight lifting here, you can do weightlifting, which is something many gyms don’t offer.
