Is there anything better than spending a weekend in the great outdoors? With the weather finally warming up and the summer season quickly approaching, now is the perfect time to start planning a weekend camping trip. Living in SOMA means that some of NorCal’s most beautiful camping sites are only a quick car ride away! Which one is your favorite?

Kirby Cove Campground: Feels like being in a remote place, yet you’re only couple miles from San Francisco. Once on the beach, you find yourself practically right under the Golden Gate Bridge with an incredible view of the NW side of the city all the way to downtown San Francisco. Since it’s one of the few places with a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge that’s not swamped by crowds, it’s definitely worth the mile or so walk to get down there. Bring a picnic if you have the time and extra clothes since it tends it get very windy down there!

Camp Mather Desk: An amazing camp for all families. A great place to get away from the busyness of the City, and spend a relaxing week with amazing people. The nature is stunning, the community is so lovely, the food is great, the activities are endless, the drive up and back are breath-taking, just overall an amazing camp that we have had such fond memories sharing them our friends and family.

Pantoll Campground: Beautiful campground with 15 or so campsites, however, they are all first come first serve at around $25 a night. All campsites well spread out with washrooms and running water. Don’t forget to come early as it can be hard to find the sites once darkness hits. Late in the season it doesn’t seem to fill up so that is not a worry! There is also a great four mile downhill hikes to Muir Woods one way and Stinson Beach the other!

The best way to connect with Mother Nature is to take a weekend and enjoy the great outdoors. Living in SOMA means that San Francisco’s best views are right outside the neighborhood. What are your summer camping plans?
