One of the best parts about living in SoMa is experiencing all the local culture, which always includes delicious cuisine. Our neighborhood boasts some of the best breweries in NorCal, and this week’s blog is all about a few of our favorites!:

Black Hammer Brewing:

SoMa’s brewery scene further expands with this modern warehouse space offering small-batch house beers by the pint or tasting flight along with unexpected amenities such as free Wi-Fi and indoor bike parking; food trucks are coming soon. The stylish, industrial digs feature exposed beams, skylights, roll-up garage doors and communal tables made from reclaimed wood. This German style brewhaus produces awesome barrels of squid ink IPA, Jaded Raver English Ale, Oktoberfest and many other brews.

Cellarmaker Brewing Co.:

From a team with roots at City Beer, Samuel Adams and Marin Brewing, this SoMa brewpub serves wallet-friendly house beers along with sandwiches delivered from the popular deli 1058 Hoagie. Cellarmaker is one of Nor Cal’s hottest beer spots, this small-batch brewery keeps a constant rotation of experimental brews running through its fermenters. We really enjoyed the Corps IPA, Witte IPA, and the Bitter Chap; and also, they have a very pleasant outdoor patio.

Local Brewing Co.:

The female duo behind this SoMa brewery and beer bar pour pints of original small-batch brews that include several IPAs and lagers, plus others named after local destinations. Local Brewing Co is clean, contains no frills, and boats a great selection with plenty of 10 oz taster options thus making it a local beer drinker’s nirvana.

Between specialized IPAs and beautiful brewery aesthetic, these local beer houses are a great place to kick back after a long week and taste whatever batch the brewmaster is cooking. What is your favorite SoMa brewery?
