The Best August Events in SoMa

There’s so much going in town this August that we thought it was probably best we tackled the subject in our latest blog. So here it is – the best August events in SoMa – and without further ado, let’s dive right in.

Kicking off our blog on the best August events in SoMa is the American Craft Show from Aug 4-6. Held at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture at 2 Marina Blvd, this three day happening has well over two hundred artists on hand to show off their wares. The wares include home décor, furniture, jewelry and even clothing! Artists on hand range from Debra Adelson to Todd Bradlee and you’re sure to find something you can’t live without!

Next up on our blog on the best August events in SoMa is the Polk Street Summer Wine Walk on Thursday, August 10th from 4pm-8pm. Make history by being a part of the first ever annual Wine Walk that takes place on Polk Street between Jackson and Post. Your summer stroll will take in various wine samples along with some very special treats. Once you’ve got your ticket you’ll get a wine glass along with a map that lists all the tasting locals.

Rounding out our blog on the best August events near SoMa is the Outside Lands Music Festival that goes from Aug 11-13th. Outside Lands is definitely one of the biggest events taking place in San Fran in August and will be home to over 70 artists across multiple stages. So who can you expect? The list might change but thus far you can expect (deep breath): The Who, Gorillaz, Lorde, Metallica, Fleet Foxes, Queens of the Stone Age, Belle & Sebastian, Kaytranada, Tove Lo and TONS more. Gates open each day at 11 am and the music runs from Noon-10pm (well, to 9:40 pm on Sunday because Sunday).

And there you go! A bunch of fun things to do while the summer sun beats down on us all. Remember to stay hydrated and, wherever you go, have fun!!
